PUNJAB EMERGANCY SERVICES RESCUE 1122 DERA GHAZI KAHN

Emergency Services Academy:
In order to ensure sustainable human resource development in the long neglected and essential field of emergency and disaster management, Emergency Services Academy has been established in the vacant Government premises and the construction of a purpose built campus is underway.
The enormous shortage of the trained Emergency Staff was putting the lives and properties of the citizens at risk and no trained emergency paramedics were available even in emergency departments of teaching hospitals. Therefore, the Academy has been established to impart quality training to the staff of long neglected but essential emergency services like emergency ambulance, rescue-fire services and emergency paramedics for hospitals. The Academy is also imparting training of emergency and disaster management to its official who will subsequently train personnel of non-government and private organizations.
Emergency management training is being imparted here through variety of incident scenarios which have been simulated for hands on training for the personnel of Emergency Services. Fires, buildings collapse, hazardous material incidents and emergencies involving mass causalities are created routinely whilst strictest standards of safety are maintained at all levels. Training material developed by Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) supports the practical training.
The Academy is also in process of getting international accreditation to ensure the quality of training. As a result of bilateral callabration between PES and emergency services of United Kindom, Emergency officers have been trained in UK to train the Emergenct staff of the Service.
This Emergency Services Academy with Training Manikins lab, Rescue Simulation Building, Hazmat Incident Training, Urban Search and Rescue Simulator, equipment and training for Disaster management is the first training institute of its kind in Pakistan and can potentially train human resource in the field of Emergency & Disaster Management not only for the country but for the region.
