The limited capacity to deal with emergencies such as road traffic accidents, building collapse, hazardous material incidents, fires and disasters have been putting the lives and properties of citizen at risk, as witnessed in several incidents especially the October, 2005 Earthquake in Pakistan. Trained Emergency Services like Emergency Ambulance, Rescue and Fire service were virtually non-existent. The ambulance services available in NGO sector are actually only patient transportation vehicles with no trained staff or equipment.
So, the Government of Punjab has established an effective integrated emergency preparedness, response and prevention system through promulgation of unanimously passed Punjab Emergency Act, 2006.
Rescue (1122) D.G.Khan has rescued over 8500 victims of emergencies while maintaining its average response time of less than 7 minutes with 02 stations in 24 hours emergency service.
Keeping in view the current situation of beloved country the Punjab Emergency Service decided to impart training to the volunteers / community members who can play a model role for the community in major incidents and disasters. They will gain the respect through their behavior and helpful attitude to the public especially during Emergencies after having necessary basic life support training conduct by (Rescue1122) D.G.Khan. Their high standard of conduct and professionalism at all times is expected very helpful to the victims of emergencies relating to the people of all walks of life at the door step of their homes and business.
In this respect, the teaching staff / student of various institution and other responsible and literate peoples are may very kindly be requested to take part in the volunteers training program.
